About the TempleKoneti Rayala Temple also known as Venkateswara temple is nestled in Keelapatla Village of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Lord Venkateswara also referred as Koneti Rayudu is the primary deity of the Temple. The Deity is believed to be Kalpatharu or a holy tree that gives boon. In the sanctum of the temple, Koneti Rayadu can be seen in standing posture with his "Kati Varada Hastas", natural "Sankh Chakras" and with the imprints of Sridevi and Bhudevi, on the chest. Huge idols of Gatekeepers Jaya-Vijaya, an ancient idol of Chenna Kesava with his two wives, five Alwars, Bhoovaraha Moorthy,Garudalwar and Anjaneya Swamy statues, all can be worshipped in the temple.
Temple Entrance
The temple was constructed by the Pallava kings between 9th and 10th centuries. This temple in Thondai Mandal depicts the styles of Pallava and Chola traditions. In the village of Keelapatla, Lord Venkateshwara is known as Koneti Rayadu.

Legends of the TempleAfter kicking on the Lord Vishnu’s chest, when Sage Brughu arrived on the earth, he was advised by Saint Kashyapa to establish the Lord’s idols in 7 different places which represent the features of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy. Brughu established Lord at 7 different places. After establishing these places, he hid all these places with his magical powers since there was no existence of Lord Venkateshwara to the Tirumala. All these temples are built before Lord Venkateshwara arrived on the earth. After Lord’s arrival on the earth, Brughu along with Agasthya came withdrew his magical powers and the locals came to know about these idols.
Temple Idol
As per the another hearsay, Lord Venkateshwara first placed his foot on this place at Keelapatla and then went to Tirumala. Hence, after having the darshan of Lord Koneti Rayala Swamy, the devotees move towards Tirumala through the forest area.

Festivals and CelebrationsSpecial rituals for Lord Venkateswara are performed apart from daily Archana, Aarti and Abhisekham.
Since the ancient times, various festivals such as Brahmotsavams, Sankranthi, Ugadi, Rathasaptami and Vaikunta Ekadasi are celebrated with great joy.The Brahmotsavam is conducted for 9 days on the grand scale. People from different places come together to celebrate this occasion.
