About the TempleDadhimati Mata Temple consecrated to goddess Dadhimati is located in Nagaur district of Rajasthan. The temple is one of the oldest temples in north India which situated in Goth-Manglod Village.
Dadhimathi Mata Temple is a historical palace as it is known to be one of the Shaktipith out of 52 shakti pith. Dadhimati is an incarnation of Goddess Laxmi. Dadhimata is Kuldevi of Dadhichak Brahmins. Parashar Brahmins are the priest in this temple. It is believed that the idol of Goddess Dadhimata is self-manifested. The idol appeared from the earth with thundering sound. Only Forehead of the Goddess Dadhimata is seen here. At present, her forehead has been covered with the silver crown on which face of the Goddess is depicted.

Temple History and Temple LegendThe ancient temple of Dadhimata was built in the 4th century during the Gupta era. King The temple was established by King Naresh Bhojdev I during 836 to 896. It is believed that Dadhimati is the sister of Rishi Dadhichi. The temple has one of the oldest characterisations of 'Devi Mahamatya', which are older than Mahalaxmi temple of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The temple is constructed according to Mahamaru style of architecture. The white stones are used to build this temple which faces towards the east. It has a depiction of Valmiki Ramayana in interiors. The temple walls have inscriptions in Sanskrit. As per the legend, Dadhimata was born on Magh Shukla Saptami from the Yagna Kund, when King Mandhta was performing Yagna.
Idol of Dadhimata
According to another hearsay, once demon Vikatasur was hiding in Dadhisagar after stealing all the quintessence of the universe. The Devtas pleaded to Aadishakti and she herself appeared and killed the demon. As she churned the Dadhi Sagar, she was named Dadhimati.
Festivals, Puja, and CelebrationsNavratri is celebrated with great fervor. A huge fair is organized during Chaitra and Ashwin Navratri.

By Road: Bus ply regularly from all the major cities of Rajasthan to reach the temple.
By Train: Jaipur is the nearby railway main station from Nagaur. Nagaur is well connected by rail with Bikaner (112 km), Merta (78 km), Phalodi (68 km).
By Air: The nearest Airport are located at Jodhpur 141 km, and Jaipur 250 km.
