About Temple:-Tiruthani Murugan Temple proudly stands for the worshippers in a small town called Thiruttani in Tamilnadu. The temple is located near to the hilly range making the scenic beauty a treat for the visitor’s eyes. The main deity of this temple is son of Lord Shiva, “Karthikeya” who is popularly worshipped as Lord Murugan in Tamilnadu. The temple is said to be “Arupadaive Edu” of Lord Murga which means the temple consists of six holy shrines of Lord Murugan. The specialty of the temple is that it’s steps, there are totally 365 steps in the temple which is the mark of 365 days in the year. It is said that once in a year you have to visit the temple and you will be blessed as much as your whole years worships.
Legend:-It is said that Sage Agastya Muni was granted a boon of knowing “Tamil language” instantly by Lord Karthikeya at Tanaiki, thus he is popular as Lord Muruga among the tamilians. The story also revolves around the King of Snakes “Vasuki” who got all the wounds in this body healed after he worshipped Lord Muruga at Thanikai. The wound was caused during the process of extracting amrit, the milky ocean was made to churn by the Devas and the Asuras, where the King Vasuki was used as the rope and the Mantotra Mountain was used as the strong base. King Vasuki was badly bruised and was in pain till he sought the blessings of Lord Muruga.

The temple is open for the visitors any day and anytime but, it is always advisable to avoid summers because the Chennai will be burning hot and not good for people who are from other parts of India. Thus, always prefer to visit during the winters, as the weather will be cool and good enough to view and enjoy the stay.
Festivals & Celebrations:-The time of the festivals such as Bhramotsavam, Kandha Shashti, and Aadi Krithigai and during the New ear is a good time to visit because the temple will be decorated so beautifully that you will keep watching it. It is a good place where you can attain peace and receive blessings from Lord Muruga.

If you are planning to visit this sacred temple, then it is very easy to reach. The place is located near to the major hub Chennai which is easily accessible to all.
By Road – It is very easy to reach Tiruthani from Chennai through cabs, government transports or local vehicles. You can easily drive till the temple with no difficulty and experience the amazing view on the way.
By Train – You can plan a train trip and get down in Arakkonam junction or Chennai station and then you can take ant state transport buses or cabs to reach the temple which is around 70 kms away.
By Air – If you travelling from airways then the only airport is the “Chennai international airport”, from there you have to either take a road or the bus transport.Accomodation:-Hotels,rooms and rest rooms are available at reasonable cost near the temple.Online booking facility is also available.
