About the Temple
Sire Mandir is consecrated to Lord Shiva. The temple situated at Jalore town of Rajasthan. Sire temple was built by Raja Ratan Singh hence, the temple is also known as Ratneshwar Temple and is popular for its grandness. Here, Shiva ling is established in one rounded Cave.
The temple is surrounded by a spring, a big Mansarovar, dining Hall, Palace of Raja Mansingh, two beautiful gardens and restrooms.Temple History
The Sire Temple is located at a height of 646 m on the Kalashachal Mountain to the west of Jalore. It is around 3 km away from the town of Jalore. While scaling the mountain, one can also find the imprint of Yogiraj Jalandhar Nath Ji’s footsteps. A fleet of stairs leads to the temple. The shrines of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ganesh can be seen on the way to Sire temple.
This temple was established by Raja Ratan Singh. It enshrines a Shiva Linga installed in a circular cave. In front of the temple, there is a big statue of an elephant, built of cement and stone. It is said that Jodhpur’s king, Mansingh, prayed at this temple to get back his kingdom.Temple LegendIt is believed that the Pandavas also spent some period of time during their anonymity. The Sage of Nath Creed, Shri Jalandharnath Ji offered rigorous penance in Bhanwar Cave situated at the mountain. With his austerity power, he showed the path to King Parmar Raja Rao Ratan under the banyan tree and after that, this Shiv temple was built by Raja Ratan Singh. Later, the Shiva temple was renovated and reconstructed by Raja Mansingh Rathore.
