Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple is in Madurai which one of the most beautiful city of Tamilnadu.

About temple:-The temple is one of the most sacred abodes of the holy shrines of Lord Murugan, they are also called as Arupadaiveedu. The most unique and interesting part of this temple is that it has main deities of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu that are facing each other. This temple is the visiting place for many ancient Tamil saints such as Sundarar, Gnana Sambhandar and Sambandhar. The temple is significantly famous for Lord Karthikeya who is lovingly called as Lord Murugan in Tamil Nadu.

Legend:-The story of the temple is beautifully narrated by our ancestors and forefathers and all the books are sold outside the temple that shares the legend of the temple. The Thiruparankundram is one of the most important pilgrimage site in India. The pilgrimage site is for the worship and spreading devotion of Karthikeya (Lord Muruga) who is called as the “God of war and victory”. The story states that Lord Muruga married Deivyani who was the beautiful daughter of Lord Indra at this place where the temple is situated now. It is a very old and sacred temple and it is well determined from the fact we can see it mentioned in the Sangam Literature.

The best time to visit the temple is during the winter, because during the summer the place will be very hot. However, the temple is open all season and you can take blessing any day and anytime without any restrictions. The winter season has a pleasant weather that will make your trip more special and memorable with less stress. The temple can also be visited during the auspicious time of the festivals because the temple will be decorated so beautifully that it is a treat to the eyes. The festivals include Panguni Uthiram (celebrated during March), Vaikasi Visakam as Visakam is said to be the birth star of Lord Muruga, Kandha Sashti (Celebrated during October or November), Aadi Krithigai (Celebrated in the month of May or June) and Thai Poosam which is celebrated during the full moon day.

The temple is a very sacred place and every visitor who come in seeking blessings have always returned satisfactory with peace of mind and happiness. Lord Muruga is worshipped by lots of love and respect by all the people of Tamilnadu and they believe that he bless everyone who reach him with their problems.

How to reach:-

The temple is situated around 10Km from Madurai, TamilNadu. To reach the place you can take either road, railway or the airways.

By Air: You can travel till Madurai Airport and then cover the remaining distance either by road or through state transport bus.

By Train: You can travel in the railways till the Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple with no much hassle.

By Road: There are many state transport buses that can allow us to reach the place easily, we can also travel through cabs or take a drive to reach the temple.
